It is the goal of the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum (TCPM) to promote student appreciation and understanding of Tillamook’s natural and cultural resources while encouraging the protection and stewardship of resources, environments, and habitats. TCPM’s education committee has developed an educational program for children centered at Kilchis Point. A grant from the Oregon Community Foundation has made it possible to provide students from Tillamook County schools with the opportunity to experience the wonder at Kilchis Point. The education programs are curriculum-based and available for all grade levels. Programs are free for Tillamook County students and TCPM may be able to assist with bus transportation. To schedule an education program please contact Carla at the Pioneer Museum at 503-842-4553.
The Kilchis Point Education Program is open to all school groups that would like to experience the history and natural beauty of the Kilchis Point area. TCPM staff work with teachers to plan a field trip that fulfills their learning goals while keeping students engaged in an outdoor setting. Whether it is an hour or three hours, TCPM staff and volunteers will do what they can to create an educational and memorable experience for students.
If you are an educator with a Tillamook County school and would like your class to participate in an on-site learning session please contact the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum at 503-842-4553.
