We have just installed two benches next to the salmon sculpture along the Trailhead Loop! The benches are made of Port Orford cedar and were made by our director, Gary Albright. If you are interested in sponsoring a bench for $300 which includes a dedication plaque similar to the ones on the trail signs, call Caitlin at the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum at 503-842-4553.

End of Summer

September 10, 2013

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Pioneer Museum this summer! We accomplished a lot at Kilchis Point this summer but still plan to continue work into autumn. Between June 1st and September 5th we have had 1,049 people sign in at the trailhead! We know that not everyone signs in so the number of visitors to Kilchis Point Reserve is actually much higher. We greatly appreciate all the hard work, donations, and encouraging comments from everyone.

Check out the newest addition to the Reserve! This sculpture, entitled “River Spirit” was made by Karen Hanson. The sculpture depicts a salmon and looks beautiful atop the stone pillar made by Dale Pugh. The sculpture is located at the convening circle along the Trailhead Loop.
