Temporary Trail

December 22, 2011

Hello Everyone!  We just wanted to let everyone know that the temporary trail out at Kilchis Point is still open, but during the last storm some trees have fallen across the path.  As of now, we don’t have plans to clear them because we should be starting on permanent trails soon.  The permanent trails will not be in the same location as the current temporary trail, so we would like to leave it as natural as possible.

Please go out and enjoy Kilchis Point but be prepared to jump, crawl and duck under some down trees.  🙂

Festival of Trees

December 16, 2011

TCPM’s Festival of Trees fundraiser was a HUGE success this year!  The museum raised over $10,000 which will be used for trail and bridge installation at Kilchis Point!

The Tillamook County Pioneer Museum is holding its 8th annual Festival of Trees fundraiser and all of this year’s proceeds are going to trail development at Kilchis Point!

Trees, wreaths, table-top trees and center pieces are now on display and everyone is welcome to stop by the museum to view them at 2106 2nd street in Tillamook.  The Festival of Trees Gala event and auction will be on December 9, 2011 from 6-8 pm.  Tickets are $20 when purchased in advanced at TCPM or $25 at the door on the night of the Gala.  The Gala is a semi formal event complete with wine and catered hor’ douves by the Pacific House restaurant.
